Ice Cream Cake

The first year Jack and I were married he asked for an ice cream cake for his birthday. I went ALL out. It was a two layered cookie dough ice cream cake with a cream/vanilla icing. I used 4 boxes of ice cream and it took me hours! As the years have passed I've continued to make ice cream cake I've just made a few adjustments to make it easier on me! I've gotten SO many compliments on my cakes because they are absolutely delicious. One of my favorite things is you can make any substitution you want. We LOVE oreos so our cake is centered around that. Change it up.... fruit, candy bars, sprinkles, brownies, cookie dough, etc. Try it out, blog about it and leave me a link. I would LOVE to see what everyone came up with!

Oreo Ice Cream Cake
12 Oreos
1/4 cup of butter

1 box of Oreo Brand Ice Cream (or any other flavor)

Let Ice Cream sit at room temperature until it is soft enough to spread easily. (could take 1-2 hours... just keep an eye on it) Crush Oreos into very fine pieces. Melt butter and combine to make an Oreo crust. Press crust into a spring foam pan (or any other pan you choose). Spread Ice Cream over crust and top with whatever toppings you choose (sprinkles, brownies, Oreos, etc). Let cake freeze overnight.

After I cut the cake I usually serve with a variety of toppings that people can choose from. My favorite is whipped cream and chocolate magic shell. Amazing. And SO easy. Sure to be a huge hit and your family will think it took you all day. You can decorate it as simple or as extravagant as you want (I've tried both..... see the pictures)

Food is FUN not just fuel
